Tariff Classification: Using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule Webinar
Full-Day Session — 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time
Certificate Issued Upon Completion.
Whether your company does importing, exporting or both, you need to properly classify your products under the Schedule B or Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes to meet U.S. and foreign government's customs requirements. Do it right and your goods should fly through customs. Do it wrong, and your goods might never make it to their destination.
This one-day webinar explains the tariff schedule and gives you the tools to classify your own company's products. You'll gain an understanding of the general notes of the tariff schedule, which will give you a strong base for understanding the rules for the various free trade agreements and other duty preference programs.
If you take this webinar, you will learn how to:
- Understand the differences between the Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes.
- Properly classify products for exports and imports.
- Understand the General Rules of Interpretation.
- Apply for and use classification rulings from U.S. Customs.
The webinar is exactly the same as the seminar except that you watch on your computer rather than sitting in the same room as the instructor. There is still ample time to ask questions. Small class sizes and a knowledgeable teacher allow for a great interaction between attendees and the instructor. Prior to the webinar you'll receive the Doing Your Duty—Product Classification According to the HTS of U.S. reference book on understanding and explaining the tariff classification process.
