Importing Procedures Webinar
Full-Day Session — 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time
Certificate Issued Upon Completion.
Too often importers expect their brokers to do all of the work when it comes to the importing process. Unfortunately the broker is not a tax adviser. Any errors they make could result in penalties for you, the importer. Learn the key compliance elements of importing: classification, valuation, country of origin, duty payment, and record keeping. Learn also how to decipher those cryptic forms your broker supplies to you. Learn how to help your broker so your broker can help you!
Your instructor will guide you through the process of properly classifying your goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, discuss the six different ways to determine the value of your goods, and outline the documents you must complete and the other entry procedures you must follow to clear your goods through customs. You'll also be given an overview of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), a program designed to speed your import process.
If you take this webinar, you will learn:
- Valuable import entry procedures that can save you penalties and fines.
- How to avoid being labeled a high-risk importer and subjecting your company to costly cargo delays.
- In-depth import documentation details that can be used immediately.
- How to obtain comprehensive Import information that is used by your broker.
Prior to the webinar you'll receive the U.S. Import Regulations, Procedures & Guidelines reference book to serve as a day-to-day guide. Webinar registrations received less than 5 business days prior to the class date will receive an eBook for the class or pay for expedited shipping (provide FedeEx account number).
