Tariff Classification Seminar
Full-Day Session - 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Certificate Issued Upon Completion.
Whether your company does importing, exporting or both, you need to properly classify your products under the Schedule B or Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes to meet U.S. and foreign government's customs requirements. Do it right and your goods should fly through customs. Do it wrong, and your goods might never make it to their destination.
This one-day seminar explains the tariff schedule and gives you the tools to classify your own company's products. You'll gain an understanding of the general notes of the tariff schedule, which will give you a strong base for understanding the rules for the various free trade agreements and other duty preference programs.
If you take this seminar, you will learn how to:
- Understand the differences between the Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes.
- Properly classify products for exports and imports.
- Understand the General Rules of Interpretation.
- Apply for and use classification rulings from U.S. Customs.
Come to this one-day seminar armed with your questions. Small class sizes and a knowledgeable teacher allow for a great interaction between attendees and the instructor. All attendees receive the Doing Your Duty - Product Classification According to the HTS of U.S. reference book on understanding and explaining the tariff classification process. Seminar registrations received less than 5 business days prior to the class date will need to pay for expediting class material (provide FedEx account number).
