Richard Vitas Palaikis II is president of North American
Logistics, International Trade Compliance Group, which
is based in Troy, Michigan, with satellite offices
located in Boston, Massachusetts, and West Des Moines,
Iowa. His company provides consultative and educational
services related to customs regulations that govern
international trade activities.
Mr. Palaikis has extensive knowledge of the customs
regulations that are enforced by U.S. Customs and Border
Protection (CBP), which is under the umbrella of the
Department of Homeland Security. His knowledge base
assists him in ensuring that all of his clients are
in compliance with all of the applicable customs regulations,
as well as regulations that are mandated by other governmental
agencies and departments. In addition, Mr. Palaikis
is also very well versed in the customs regulations
that are enforced by the Canada Border Services Agency
(CBSA).
Aside from authoring articles for International Business
Training, Mr. Palaikis has successfully undertaken
the challenge of authoring his own textbook/preparation
manual, U.S. Customs Broker Examination Preparation
Manual, Second Edition, for those individuals who are
in preparing for the written U.S. Customs Broker Examination,
as well as for use as an everyday reference guide.
In addition, Mr. Palaikis has also conducted various
informational and training seminars pertaining to customs
regulations and conducted a joint informational session
along with the Canada Border Services Agency at the
Client Services Office located in Windsor, Ontario,
Canada.
Mr. Palaikis is a product of the University of Windsor
(Windsor, Ontario, Canada), as well as the Forum for
International Trade Training (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)
with a concentration in the field of International
Trade Management.
